Sindomakassar: Young Talents from Loeha Raya Build Their Careers with PT Geo Sinergi Utama Through PT Vale’s Vocational Program

As reported by Sindomakassar, PT Vale vocational training in Loeha Raya continues to play a vital role in preparing young local talents for professional careers in Indonesia’s mining and industrial sectors. The program reflects PT Vale Indonesia Tbk’s long-term commitment to empowering communities within its operational areas in Towuti District, East Luwu Regency.

PT Vale Indonesia Tbk, part of MIND ID (Mining Industry Indonesia), consistently prioritizes the development of high-quality local human resources. Through structured vocational initiatives, the company aims to ensure that local youth possess practical skills, industry knowledge, and workplace readiness.

This year marks the third batch of PT Vale vocational training in Loeha Raya, involving participants from Rante Angin, Loeha, Bantilang, Masiku, and Tokalimbo villages. Previous programs focused on heavy equipment operation, while the current training emphasizes technical and administrative competencies.

Skills Training Aligned with Industry Needs

In collaboration with the East Luwu Regency Government and Sorowako Polytechnic (Poliwako), the program delivers training in welding, electrical systems, and office administration. All participants receive free accommodation, training facilities, and allowances—ensuring inclusive access to skill development.

One of the participants, Indrawati Sinur from Rante Angin Village, joined the office administration program to broaden her professional capabilities. A postgraduate graduate of Hasanuddin University, she has already been accepted as an Administrative Staff at PT Geo Sinergi Utama, assigned to support a PT Vale project in Tanamalia.

While awaiting project mobilization, Indrawati uses the PT Vale vocational training as an opportunity to sharpen her skills. She highlighted that the program allows her to continuously improve while preparing for formal placement within the industry.

Creating Pathways to Employment

Other participants also recognize the program as more than short-term training. Sahabuddin Jaris from Loeha Village expressed optimism that the welding and drilling skills gained will strengthen his job applications. Meanwhile, Muh Aynul Yaqin from Bantilang Village used the training period to deepen his electrical expertise during his postgraduate academic break.

Village Head of Loeha, Hamka Tandioga, praised the program’s positive impact on community capacity building. He actively encourages local youth to participate as part of long-term workforce development.

According to Endra Kusuma, Director of External Relations at PT Vale Indonesia, the company remains committed to prioritizing local talent recruitment. Vocational training programs serve as a strategic bridge, ensuring participants are well-equipped before entering the professional workforce.

Through PT Vale vocational training in Loeha Raya, collaboration with industry partners such as PT Geo Sinergi Utama continues to create sustainable career pathways for Indonesia’s next generation.
